So, to begin: I think I'm becoming one of those people who is addicted to fairy lights....
And this got me thinking about why I like them. I think, it may be because they just give a little glow in a dark room. In a room that would otherwise be pitch black, it's quite amazing how a little tiny light can give out so much light! and likewise (<<< good word that) every human being has a chance to be a little fairy light in the world. Tbh, the world is a pretty dark place with war and terrorism, just the last fortnight there have been multiple terrorist attacks and bombings, but every so often a little spark of light shines through and makes the world a little brighter even if just for a moment.

In a small scale world, we can each be a light to someone- perhaps they are having a bad day so why not bake a cake and show them you care? Send a text telling them you are praying/ thinking about them whilst they are going through a tough spot.
I feel Christmas a great time to do this, send a card to someone you used to be great friends with and you've maybe just drifted apart.
And for making yourself a little cheerier, evening walks in the town are great! Go with a friend and just wander about, looking at the Christmas lights as they sparkle and shine. Take some time out and read a book, listen to some music out loud ~ I'm emphasising this because I know I'm so guilty of just hiding in a hole and listening to sad music when I'm down { *ahem* tom odell *cough*cough* } So stick on Up Town Funk and dance away!!!
